Presenting Agent X to the ironmaking team of a large East China steelmaker
Dr Ziguang Zhao introduced SIC™ BF Smart Agent X to frontline ironmaking engineers at a large steelmaker in East China. The team recognised its value and set out what they need to use it in daily operation.

In May 2026, SIC™ co-founder Dr Ziguang Zhao visited the ironmaking division of a large steelmaker in East China to present SIC™ BF Smart Agent X and discuss it with the engineers who run the furnaces every day.
A live what-if on the big screen
Rather than slides, the session ran the software. Two charging matrices were compared side by side, and the room watched how central gas flow and the cohesive zone moved when the ore and coke distribution changed — the kind of adjustment the team normally makes on experience and checks only after the furnace responds.
What the frontline team told us
The discussion with ironmaking engineers and managers centred on their daily questions: what will this burden or charging change do inside the furnace, and how long until it settles?
- Recognition of the value. Seeing the in-furnace response before adjusting — rather than after — was the point the team returned to most. They saw it helping operators understand, confirm and fine-tune changes to operating practice.
- Clear engineering needs. To use Agent X in daily operation, the team needs it built on their own furnace's geometry and operating data; results presented the way operators work, with key conclusions and charts alongside the in-furnace view; and deployment that fits the plant's systems and data rules.
What comes next
These needs feed directly into our enterprise integration roadmap: plant data connectors, open interfaces and on-site deployment.
