Presenting at China's 2026 National Ironmaking Production Technology Conference
SIC™ co-founder Dr Ziguang Zhao presented on behalf of SIC™ in the AI + Ironmaking session of the 2026 National Ironmaking Production Technology Conference in Hefei.

From 8 to 10 April 2026, more than 500 engineers, plant managers and researchers met in Hefei, Anhui, for the 2026 National Ironmaking Production Technology Conference and Ironmaking Academic Annual Meeting (全国炼铁生产技术会暨炼铁学术年会) — one of the main annual gatherings of China's ironmaking community.
The conference was hosted by the Chinese Society for Metals and its Ironmaking Branch, and co-hosted by the Anhui Society for Metals, Anhui University of Technology and Maanshan Iron & Steel. This year's theme was technological innovation empowering ironmaking, with low-carbon and intelligent technology leading the future. The programme ran 78 presentations, drawn from more than 120 submitted papers, across plenary sessions, a plant managers' and chief engineers' forum, four specialist sessions and a dedicated AI + Ironmaking session.
In the AI + Ironmaking session, SIC™ co-founder Dr Ziguang Zhao presented on behalf of SIC™, sharing our team's work on blast furnace mathematical modelling and its role in low-carbon ironmaking.
Why we take part
Blast furnace decarbonisation is decided on the plant floor, by the engineers and managers who run the furnaces. Conferences like this one are where we hear the problems they face first-hand — and where we test whether physics-constrained modelling answers them. What we learn there feeds directly into SIC™ BF Smart Agent X.
Talk to us
If your plant is planning a burden change, an injection trial or another low-carbon operation, we would be glad to discuss how modelling can de-risk it. Get in touch.
Conference details are from the official report by the Chinese Society for Metals.
